Luthier : Concept Art

I created this Character as part of my Masters course for one of my modules. I chose to work on this because I am a massive fan of horror and especially the horror of the unknown, so when designing this character I looked for inspiration in the works of various Authors and Artists such as "H.P.Lovecraft" and "Junji Ito". In doing so I was able to concept the Character you see before you, her design is similar to that of a Japanese "Geisha" on the outside allowing her to lure humans to her. It is only when you look closer that the cracks in the disguise begin to show, revealing her true form underneath the mask. She has various spider elements scattered throughout her design as arachnids are very good a mimicking other creatures to lure in prey, as well as this the inclusion of extra legs and webbing gives the Character an "Otherworldly" feel to it which i like.
